In a career spanning more than 30 years, Rick Brunermer has built a reputation as one of the most soulful and versatile saxophone players on the Jersey Shore. He has performed or recorded with many national acts: Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Michael McDonald, Jewel, Cindi Lauper, Trisha Yearwood, Rob Thomas, Stephanie Mills, Dave Mathews, India Arie, Lloyd Price, Max Weinberg, the Jimmy Dorsey Band, the Nelson Riddle Orchestra, and Tony Bennett, among others.

All this after a quiet childhood growing up in the suburbs of Marion Indiana, where he learned to play the saxophone, and fell asleep at night listening to all the old soul artists on all the latest technological gizmo, a little Japanese transistor AM radio. After graduating from the University of Miami, he began his professional life as an orchestra leader for two years on various cruise ships. He spent a year on tour with Grammy-winning R&B gospel singer Larnelle Harris, a band in which fellow Marion musician and friend Tommy Wells played drums. The band produced two albums and two singles.

Just recently, Rick collaborated with fellow Marion High School alumni, Connie Strange, on one of her CDs, on which Tommy Wells was also the drummer.

Rick has also toured with India's premier Grammy-winning film soundtrack composer AR Rahman (Slum Dog Millionaire).

Rick is currently in demand as a studio session player, where his talent can be heard on various jingles nationwide. He has several published songs to his credit.

He is horn section leader and arranger for Bruce Springsteen’s drummer, Max Weinberg’s Rhythm and Soul Revue.

A founding member, he directs and arranges for the Motor City Revue horn section, a powerful Motown tribute band. www.motorcityrevue.com

He is also arranger and section leader of The Summer of Love Concert, an international theater concert featuring more than 20 on-stage musicians, featuring songs from the Woodstock era. www.summerofloveconcert.com
