Caleb spent his childhood in Marion exploring his passion for the performing arts. At age 11, with a love for singing, dancing, acting, and Britney Spears, his parents enrolled him in the Community School of the Arts. Through CSA, Caleb was able to hone his abilities and connect with other talented kids who would become lifelong friends. It was also during this time that Caleb’s parents gave him a laptop and video camera. He taught himself to edit video and began writing, acting, and producing his own original content. Throughout high school, Caleb continued his work at CSA while also joining 26th Street Innovations show choir at MHS. After graduating in 2011, he attended Indiana University to study video production. In his freshman year, Caleb trained to be a dance fitness instructor at IU’s student recreation center. Caleb debuted his dance fitness class “Club Cardio” at CSA over his summer break and began to craft the character he would later be known for. Caleb created a YouTube channel for his dance fitness persona, The Fitness Marshall. He choreographed, wrote, and edited the content. Caleb also enlisted the help of several CSA and Innovations alumni to be his “Backup Booties” and dance behind him in the videos. Caleb’s video for Me Too by Meghan Trainor went viral. It amassed over 50 million views on Facebook and YouTube, garnering attention from POPSUGAR, Sony Records and Meghan Trainor herself. Caleb and his crew took The Fitness Marshall on the road, and the live shows were a massive hit, attracting huge crowds. They embarked on their first international tour, performing 47 shows in seven different countries. The Fitness Marshall YouTube channel hit 1 million subscribers. Verizon’s Go90 greenlit a reality show about the adventures of The Fitness Marshall. Caleb, Cameron (his manager), Haley Jordan and Bria McCarty (his “Backup Booties”, who are both Marion grads) moved from Indiana to Los Angeles to film their show, Life of a Fitness Pop Star. The Fitness Marshall has continued to grow, being featured on TLC, My Big Fat Fabulous Life, E! News, Pickler and Ben, People Magazine, Buzzfeed, KISS FM, POPSUGAR, 9GAG, Australia’s Studio 10 and more. Caleb’s dream is to continue spreading love, confidence, and happiness to as many people as he possibly can through The Fitness Marshall and any other opportunities that may come his way. He attributes his success to his supportive family, performing arts mentors from Marion, friends who danced in his videos, and most importantly, God.
