Brian Balsbaugh is a lawyer and sports agent, representing some of the most high-profile athletes and celebrities in the world.
After graduating from Marion High School, he earned degrees from the Indiana University Kelly School of Business and the IU School of Law.
He began his career as a professional golf agent, where he became an expert on golf sponsorships, licensing and event management. For six years, he served Imani Sports as its Vice President and General Counsel, while overseeing the careers of a dozen prominent PGA TOUR & LPGA TOUR professionals. During this time, he also served as an Adjunct Professor of Sports Law at the University of Minnesota.
In 2003, Mr. Balsbaugh applied the blueprint he learned in golf to poker and founded the world’s first poker agency. Today, Poker Royalty is the leading international poker agency, representing the top professional and celebrity poker players and the game’s premier brands and events. Poker Royalty also specializes in licensing and brand development, marketing, consulting, appearance requests and event management, and has worked with organizations such as Ebay, Yahoo, Pepsi, HBO, and Netflix.
He is one of only two people who has been named to Bluff Magazine’s list of most influential people in poker and gaming for 10 years.
He helped to create and co-chair the Against All Odds charity poker tournament to benefit the Las Vegas chapter of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. It has raised more than $1 million to help battle childhood diseases.
In 2012, he turned his expertise to yet another emerging industry: e-sports. Mr. Balsbaugh founded eSports Management, which represents several notable names in the growing field and working with major companies including ESPN, Twitch, Activision, and more. Mr. Balsbaugh also is a principal in Global eSports Resources, which in 2018 inked an exclusive partnership with the Saudi Arabian Federation of Electronic and Intellectual Sports (SAFEIS), headed by Saudi Prince Faisal Bin Bandar Bin Sultan Al Saud, to launch and develop the public/private global e-sports federation.
He and his wife, Nikki, and their three children, Trey, 14, TJ, 12, and Cash, 9, live in Las Vegas.
