Photojournalist, 43 years for The Associated Press, devoted husband, volunteer.
Mr. Daugherty started his journalistic career while in high school. Mr. Daugherty served in Indianapolis, Boston, and Washington DC.
Mr. Daugherty has earned various White House News Photographers Association Awards and was named the winner of The Oliver Gramling Achievement Award (2001).
Mr. Daugherty photographed 10 presidents, made seven trips to China (one of two AP photographers) including President Nixon’s historic visit. Mr. Daugherty covered 37 Kentucky Derby’s, 23 Masters Golf Tournaments, and countless Super Bowls, World Series, and the Olympic Games. Mr. Daugherty also covered 22 national political conventions, and the 1991 Desert Storm.
